I had a number of questions for him:
- Is this chonic back pain a minor problem fixable without surgery? probably not
- How long until I get better? don't know
- How long until I should see the doctor again? 6 months??!?
- Can I get a cortisone shot? no
- Can I play golf in two weeks? start slowly (9 holes)
- What's to prevent small disc tear from worsening? nothing
- Can I get images from my MRI? no, on the Kaiser system
- Can I get an e-mail address in case I think of additional questions? no
This was a very unhelpful appointment. I spent most of the appointment listening to him talk about how dogs have such good posture that they don't get back problems. Then he went into a monologue about how Christians foolishly believe that God can heal their injuries. I was too shocked to really respond. After my alloted half-hour, I was unceremoniously shuttled out of the room.
