I just got a call from Patrick Lord at CalPERS (916-795-1285) who informed me that he is sending over the package of information to the review panel either "this afternoon or tomorrow." Silly me, I thought he had done this weeks ago. He said we can expect a decision in 3-4 weeks. And so, the waiting continues....
On a side note, my pain is moving around and fluctuating. I've had a few decent days and a lot of bad ones. I've started taking vicodin and drinking again in the evenings. The booze definitely helps alleviate the pain, but I limit myself to a drink or two. Mostly the radiating pain is down the right leg, but I've had some on the left side too of late. My left foot has been killing me for almost a week, but I'm hoping it's just a bruise. My right hip is really hurting today, but I think I just slept on it wrong. Sheesh, it seems like just one thing after another. I know I'm not a hypochondriac, but I wonder if people think that I am. Hopefully not. I appreciate people asking about my back, but I'm starting to get tired of talking about it. Sheesh, it's supposed to be rough getting old, but this is ridiculous. I know I thrashed my body in my younger days, but it's not like I was playing in the NFL or something.
