facet injection results + new PT

e-mail to Dr. Dobecki:

I wanted to let you know that prior to the diagnostic facet injection procedure, my pain level was approximately '2'. And after the procedure, I felt a small improvement with my pain dropping to a '1'. So, the facet joints do seem to be contributing some to my pain. I don't know if it is enough to warrant doing the medial branch nerve block. What do you think?

As I mentioned last week, I seem to be getting some positive results from physical therapy (which is why my pain level was only a '2' last week). I originally started the PT to speed my recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery, but they have been working on my back too. The staff at Mission Hills Physical Therapy (missionhillspt.com) are using a technique called Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) which is very different from what I've had in the past. I would like to continue the PT, however the orthopedic (knee) surgeon only prescribed 4 weeks of treatment which ends this Friday. Would it be possible for you to prescribe me additional PT so that my insurance will cover? Or do I need to go to an orthopedic (back) surgeon such as Dr. Dodge for the recommendation? Let me know....
