status update

from an e-mail to a friend:

i'm not doing well either. called in sick yesterday, and just barely made it in today. i recently got involved with a cute young blonde, but i don't know if i can keep up with her. which really sucks. she's a sweetheart, but i don't want to bring her down.

i'm going to make an appointment with this guy in santa monica who does disc replacements. i don't want surgery, but i'm not sure if i can keep living the way i have been either....
