Just talked with Patrick Lord (PH: 916-795-1285, FAX: 916-795-359) at CalPERS regarding my appeal against Blue Cross's denial of my ADR procedure. I am to submit supporting information (records, doctor's notes, MRI reports, but NOT medical studies) to support my appeal. Blue Cross will be submitting information to support their denial of my ADR procedure.
Apparently CalPERS has an Independent Medical Review Board which will be reviewing my case and should render a decision within 3-4 weeks. There are three reviewers who are experts in neurology or orthopedic surgery, and I need two out of three to see my side.
