CalPERS upholds BC decision to deny ADR

Finally got a call back from Patrick Lord at CalPERS who informed me that the CalPERS Independent Medical Review agreed that Blue Cross was right in denying my artificial disc replacement (ADR) surgery. He said the three doctors on the review panel agreed unanimously that ADR was not better than conventional treatment (i.e.: fusion). Apparently there are still legal avenues to appeal, but I think I may pretty much be done with Blue Cross. I'll wait to see what happens with my Work Comp case, and if that's a dead end, then I will go with a fusion.
