surgery postponed

I've made an executive decision to postpone my surgery. Mom is supposed to fly out tomorrow, but we still don't know if this is going to happen. Dr. Nelson has not heard back from the Work Comp medical review committee (or whatever it's called). Not surprising though as, according to my adjuster Celia, the request was only sent over on Monday.

I can't really blame anyone as I did sort of "change the rules" at the eleventh hour in going for Work Comp coverage. In my own defense, I did not understand the intricacies of health insurance coverage, was unaware of the advantages of using WorkComp, did not think that Dr. Nelson would be in the Work Comp network, and did not realize I would even be eligible for Work Comp. So, considering that we've done a quick changeover to a whole new insurance coverage, things have actually moved forward quickly.

Now we wait to get formal approval and then reschedule....
