Just found what looks to be a fantastic website regarding Artificial Disc Replacement called ADR Support. Apparently there is a rather convoluted registration process where the admin has to manually add you to the system in order to be able access the forums, etc. I called the site owner Rich, and he was very understanding and helpful, so hopefully I'll be added in a few hours. He even said he'd like to call me back to discuss my specific situation! Looks like there is a ton of information on the site including patient stories and insurance company battles. I'm so thankful to have found this page as it looks to be very useful and informative.
As far as my pain level, it is still pretty darn bad -- probably a 6 today. I forgot to mention in my post yesterday that I've been feeling really nauseous lately. This morning I had a meeting at work, and I kept thinking I was going to throw up; I made sure to locate the nearest trashcan just in case. I've been having headaches and weird bodyaches and dizziness and general discomfort. Flu-like symptoms, but no sneezing or runny nose. I don't know if it's the meds or if my back pain has just gotten bad enough for my body to start protesting. Yikes, I just remembered when I read one guys testimony and he talked about having all-over body pain or something like that. Let me try to find the webpage....
Ok, it was on the chirogeek webpage where he talks about wide-spread pain or fibromyalgia or centralized pain. I hope to heck that I don't have anything like that. Sheesh, I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac or something. I hate being injured or hurting, and I hate talking about it. One of the worst things is that no one can actually see that you are jacked up; it's all internal. At least with a bad cut or broken bone you can show people your scar and it's pretty obvious what is the problem; this back pain is much more frustrating because you can't see it externally.
