I just got off the phone with Dr. Nelson -- what a great guy! He actually returned my call in less than 24 hours, and he will be happy to write a letter stating that -- as he told me in person on May 16th -- I would be an excellent candidate for ADR. Upon receipt, this letter will go into my arsenal of information which I anticipate may be needed to force Blue Cross to pay for my surgery. I'm hoping that (1) I'll get better and not need the surgery; or (2) they will approve the disc replacement with no questions asked. But it's always good to be prepared for any eventuality, so I'm getting my ducks in a row here.
